We are always looking for suggestions of things to do around Seattle – Especially if they are off the beaten path. We also need more stuff that can be done at night or during inclement weather. Basically what we’re saying is… give us tips, do it here… we appreciate them.

you should turn the heat off in matt’s house
you should go to oxbow park. hat ‘n boots!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxbow_Park_(Seattle)
My husband and I are currently on a quest to spend quality time in each of the fifty states. We have been in 38 and have lived in 5 together (I’ve lived in 8 different states).
Hands down, the state we enjoyed the most is the Evergreen State. We lived just south of Seattle for almost four years with our two teenage daughters. We hope to get back after a brief stint in Kansas (yuck).
I just happened along your website this morning. Your list included many of our favorite places in Washington.
Here are a few more suggestions:
In Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, WA stands the remains of a men’s dormitory that was once part of the Western State Sanitarium.
“Ghost-hunters” claim the area is haunted. There is a large cemetery with graves of patients who died at the hospital in another area of the park.
I’ve heard city officials are considering demolishing the crumbling walls that are still standing. With a weird-creepy vibe, it’s an OK place to investigate.
Supposedly Kurt Cobain’s great-grandfather committed suicide at the Western State Hospital.
The Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park is worth the trip to British Columbia, only a few hours away. http://www.vanaqua.org
While in Vancouver, stop by Granville Island. http://www.granvillisland.com
Have you been to the Police Museum in Pioneer Square? Cheap admission and an interesting hour or two.
Multnomah Falls in Oregon (just outside of Portland) is GORGEOUS!! Take the scenic route, you’ll pass several smaller falls along the way. My favorite is Latourell Falls.
Astoria, Oregon has tons to see and do. Alot of movies (80s & 90s) were filmed there.
The Pacific Northwest has a large concentration of glassblowers. The Museum of Glass in Tacoma has a great demonstration area and admission is free every third Thursday from 5-8 pm. Just walking across the Chihuly Bridge is worth going down to Tacoma.
Have Fun!!

P.S.
If you’re going to live in Washington, you should try rock climbing at least once. If you are a novice, go to Stone Gardens climbing gym in Ballard or Edgeworks gym in Tacoma, to learn the ropes before climbing outside.

I’ve been meaning to check out the small Fremont Peaks Park (aka Palatine Park) for a while. View is supposed to be spectacular. http://www.fremontpeakpark.org/
