Does anyone remember that horrible Rebecca Black song where she gave everyone a lesson in the days of the week?
Yesterday was Thursday
Today i-is Friday
We we we so excited!
Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday….comes afterwaaaaards
Thanks Rebecca. I learned this in preschool but am really grateful for the refresher course. I can’t get this garbage out of my head. Lord help me now.
But alas, IT’S FRIDAY! This weekend has craaaaawled by yet again. Must have something to do with the dismal weather.
I’m pretty excited for Purple Haze tonight, then tomorrow is Beard and Stache Fest’s Opening Reception at Blue C Sushi in Fremont, and then on Sunday….recovery. I plan on having a completely gluttonous, lazy, eat whatever I want and be as unproductive as possible, kind of day.
For those of you who aren’t sure what you’re doing tonight (and we both know where you’ll be tomorrow night!) consider popping into the Century Ballroom on Capitol Hill to help them celebrate their 15th anniversary. You’re given two options for tonight. You can come at 7pm, pay 60$ and get a 6 course meal (yea, 6!) and then stay for the epic dance party that is ensuing afterwards. Or you can skip the dinner, come closer to 10pm, and pay 5$ to enjoy the epic dance party. There will be special performances, 3 rooms of music, and some amazing DJs to start your weekend off right. I’ve never been but I read that there’s also a flea market every Saturday from 11-3 on the second floor. That sounds pretty amazing to me! I’d love to find a new chest to hold my alarmingly large collection of doggie toys for the pooch.
I figure that by Sunday morning I’m going to be exhausted. All the singing and fraternizing with folicularly blessed guys is surely going to take its toll. Enter gluttonous brunch.
In an ideal world I’d be able to try every amazing brunch restaurant Seattle has to offer. In my real world I mostly limit myself to places I know I’ll be able to park at. This weekend I’m gunning for the Original Pancake House in Ballard. There’s nothing more amazing to me than a giant stack of pancakes at noon on a Sunday. And because my New Years Resolution was to try new places (which this is to me) I obviously looked over the menu beforehand and am in AWE of the pancake choices. Holy cow. Do I want coconut or Georgia pecan? Or blueberry? I can’t wait.
And speaking of pancakes
Next Sunday there will be a HUGE pancake feed at the Swedish International Cultural Center. I had no idea this happened every first Sunday of the month, but apparently over 900 people show up and the authentic breakfast they serve up is quite a hit. More to details to come on that adventure next week!
Enjoy your weekend TWIFfers! Can’t wait to see you out at Blue C on Saturday!
