Over a week ago, I came back to my house and found it impossible to get a car into my driveway because a Green Jetta was partially blocking it. My driveway is steep and difficult to get out of to begin without having to maneuver through the lawn. So we were forced to park almost a block away.
Frustrated but giving the Jetta owner the benefit of the doubt – thinking that perhaps they didn’t realize what they had done – I put a note on their car reading “Please don’t block our driveway. Thanks” – I tried to be careful in my wording, I just wanted to bring it to their attention.
The next morning one of my roommates comes down and hands me the note back saying that this was on their car… It’s the note, with a note back written on it.

“I WASN’T”? Are you kidding me? Does this guy think I just wrote the note for fun? Seattle city law says I have a 5 foot clearance on either side of my driveway. Why would I take the time to write you a note if you weren’t? I saw it as being quite antagonistic for something that say if he never parked in front of the driveway again wouldn’t be a problem.
But it gets better…. Later that day presumably when he returned from work he parked in the same spot. This time it HAD to be intentional and it was certainly antagonistic. I went to bed early that night but I did call the cops to have him ticketed – mainly because he was a jerk – but I really wanted to write “YES YOU WERE” on the note and put it next to the ticket.
He hasn’t parked there since.

This is the driveway, its barely wide enough for a car. If you look at the end of the driveway you can clearly see his green Jetta sitting there. Because the driveway is at an incline, he’s lucky we weren’t already parked there as its difficult to see at that angle and we would have certainly hit him.

YES! That sucker finally got what (s)he deserved. I don’t even live there, but have noticed the driveway blocked by that same green Jetta soooo many times.. Good job, Amy!
btw.. you totally should have put the note back on the car.. ha
call the cops – give him a ticket and tow it next time
That happened at our building recently~ we saw an egg on the hood of the car the next morning…haven’t seen the car since!
